We’re now approaching our first year as an NPTC Assessment Centre and have done just short of 1,000 assessments covering a range of units including Chainsaw, Climbing and Aerial Chainsaw, Utility Arboriculture, Pesticides, Woodchipper, Strimmer and Animals in Transit.

Many students have been assessed within 24hours of their training, most within one week and nearly all assessed within 2 weeks of being trained. Our first audit visit during September proved very successful and the City & Guilds staff have been very supportive. This in turn
has encouraged us to progress with new test categories and units such as the online Maths and English tests for our apprenticeships.

We invested in 6 new laptops, software and printers in preparation for the City & Guilds “e-volve” online testing which has been a great success. Students can now get their results for their PA1 (Pesticides Foundation Module) immediately after their assessment and before they go on to do their practical spraying training – instantly giving the students the feedback they need to progress with their training.

There are now 22 instructors and assessors working for Lynher Training Ltd with 4 others going through the process, which should help us to improve customer service even more over the coming months.

Thank you to everyone for their support and feedback over the past year.
